Aaron Derwin II
Multi - Disciplinary Artist
ABOUT
Aaron J. Derwin II’s musical voice is shaped by a deep engagement with photography and film, which informs his approach to structure, pacing, and atmosphere. He is particularly drawn to static visual art for its unique relationship to time and perception—the ability to reveal itself both in its entirety and in intricate detail at once. This sense of simultaneity is something he actively seeks to translate into art, crafting art that invites observers to experience multiple layers of meaning in a single moment. Aaron is a fourth-year student at The Juilliard School, pursuing a Bachelor of Music studying under Dr. Amy Beth Kirsten. Through his work, Derwin aims to blur the boundaries between performance and spectatorship, creating immersive, interactive experiences that unfold organically through the mechanisms of human nature.
